Organising your daily oral care
“Build a habit you can maintain while paying attention to how you clean.”
When can you brush without rushing? And when is it easiest to clean between your teeth?
Choose a routine that fits your day and gives you time to clean carefully. Consistency matters, and so does reaching the different tooth surfaces with a suitable technique.
Make time for careful brushing
Set aside two regular brushing times each day. Choose a calm place where you can notice how you hold the brush and which areas you have cleaned.
If distractions mean you miss areas or press too hard, change the setting or timing. The habit should support careful cleaning rather than simply getting it done.
Include cleaning between your teeth
Brushing and interdental cleaning complement each other. Pick a daily moment for cleaning between your teeth and keep the aid recommended for your mouth ready to use.
Ask your dental hygienist to check the tool, size and technique if you are unsure. An aid should fit the space without being forced.
Make the routine manageable
Identify the step you find difficult: remembering, finding a quiet moment or knowing what to do. Work on that specific obstacle rather than trying to create a perfect routine at once.
If you keep noticing bleeding, pain or another change, ask your dentist or dental hygienist for advice. A different routine does not replace an assessment of symptoms.
